Hmmm. I am not usually a fan of HDR photos converted to monotone, BUT.. this kinda works. But, with the color conversion, I doubt that HDR did anything for the photo.. seems you could have got nearly the same thing without going through the extra steps. Just my opinion.

When I first saw this I would have sworn you were working with a limited gray scale, but when I ran it through my system the levels graph looked right. That is, you have a nice even curve from black to white. Still, the image looks a bit muted. If you like that, fine, but I pushed the black slider over a bit and it appeared to add some drama to the image. Give it a try and see if you like it.

Flat, uninteresting! I have noticed that there are a lot of "HDR" images around. Photographers are using this technique just because they can. I suspect that your image would have looked much better with the shadows/high lights left alone, especially as it's b/w.
