A little HDR on a cruise I just took. Its not perfect, but i really like the way it turned out. I don't really do HDR and I'm curious about the impact that HDR has on this particular photo/my overall technique in HDR

Hi Chuck,

though a bit busy for my taste, it's a very interesting image and well thought out composition (other than the distracting background).

As for your HDR, it's typically considered not good to have halos as a result of HDR processing and your image has them pretty strongly/badly particularly in the area between the rope and the water and around the bow of the boat.

In case you're unsure, halos are the lighter colored areas around edges that is a result of poorly processed HDRs.

In the end, interesting idea, poor HDR execution. Sorry I can't tell you how to fix it as I don't do HDR.

I really like that the ropes in the foreground. I can't help but wish you did some focus stacking to get them in focus. That would have been really neat. I also agree with Big Fuzzy about the halos.

I love the way this picture looks. It gives an almost surreal feeling.

I never even considered focus stacking. This photo was somewhat tricky since it was just a single off-the-cuff shot, but I appreciate the criticisms. Any others are of course welcome.

I really love this snap shot If only the other ship wasn't in the background this would be completely brilliant.
