Default Low Clarity/High Vibrance Portraits

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello everyone,

I wanted to try a little something different. These images are processed entirely in Camera RAW, with a very low Clarity, and a very high Vibrance/Contrast. Aside from that I did not make any other slider adjustments.
I was hoping my teenage model (read: my daughter whom I keep dragging around so I can practice all my big ideas) would think they had a young and hip/modern feeling! She loves them, although I'm not sure if I would processs like this very often, I wondered what you all thought of a few of these. Do the images look too soft? Too Vibrant/Contrasty? If your really bored there's more on Flickr. Any comments appreciated!

EXIF
Canon EOS Rebel T1i
ISO 100
1/200 f/4

i like the soft, even lighting and the contrasting colors of the wheel and the sweatshirt and the concentric lines that lead you to the model. but maybe you should have moved her a little to the left to cover the 6 distracting hex nuts.

I don't know that the "low clarity" had much impact on your final image... though I am sure that the high vibrancy thing did. Nice color, good composition, good clarity in spite of your attempt to make it less clear! I like it.

Moving her to the left would have simply shown the ones to the right. Moving her FORWARD and to the left would have covered them all but at the expense of changing the dynamics of the circles and her.

Personally, I don't find them distracting (I know, though, that everyone's different and sees different things in the pictures and has different likes and dislikes, etc.)

As to the original question(s), I think it came out pretty well.

I'm glad to hear you don't find the hex nuts distracting. I can't believe I didn't even notice them, not only while taking the picture, but even in process! It could be that a huge tractor tire just is what it is to me.

I didn't find the hex nuts distracting either. Really like the colors, the composition. I can see why your daughter likes it! TFS!
