Little Red Riding Hood

This is 1 in a series of the fairy tale little red riding hood and at the moment is the only image that is almost complete apart from a few tweaks here and their. It is made up of several images and good old Photoshop.
Not sure if its too dark or not and would like to how i could improve it. thank you

Canon EOS 5D MkII,
EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM,
Photoshop CS4

This might help
# We strongly encourage the use of a photosharing site such as flickr, photobucket, zoomr, etc.
# Please include the following information, if possible, with your image: EXIF info, type of camera, specific questions (What do you think? is not a specific question). A meaningful title, NOT "Critique Please", will also get your post noticed in a crowded section, as well as any additional information you can give about the conditions in which you shot.

Knowing your camera settings can play a HUGE part in knowing how to help you

Not everyone is going to know what EXIF is, I think that we try to help each other out on these niggling details. On your Flickr image it's found in the actions button, view EXIF info

Here is your EXIF that is typically included in the posts, I just copied the info right from that section.
Exif data
Camera Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Exposure 4
Aperture f/22.0
Focal Length 28 mm
ISO Speed 100
Exposure Bias 0 EV
Flash Off, Did not fire

I think this turned out really well - though I can't really tell, is she lifting her skirt ???
This is probably the direction that you are going after - right?

love the vibrant red and the background... not fond of the smack dead center composition nor the fact that the subject is such a minor part of the frame. In a series, it probably is an interesting filler but really not strong enough to stand on its own (if you hadn't explained what it was/what you were doing I wouldn't "get it").

Agree with the last post--and my first impression was that yes, there is way too much darkness around what is an obvious subject. In this case, I wouldn't call this a good use of negative space... just too much darkness. If you are trying to convey something descriptive with the subject, the viewer really needs more information about their body language, facial expression...I can tell that you are working on the post-processing end of this to try to perfect, but I think the composition needs a little more thought to convey a compelling "story" and image. Hope that is helpful.
