Default Urban Decay - Blue Chair

I was going for some Urban Decay, eerie feeling....

Does this photo reflect this?

Would you have done anything different, compositionally?

Not bad, I like it. It could do with quite a bit of straightening though.

I like it. I do agree about straightening, I would also like to see it with the plant photo-shopped out on the left, just leaving concrete without any vegetation.

Thank you for your comments....

I went with the Dutch Angle, to add a little to the mood...hopefully creating a little uneasiness. I might play with it in PP some more to see what straightening does.

I was unsure about the plant...left it in to balance the bottom left....but cant decide if I like it.

Thanks for your comments, I appreciate your taking the time, they do help.

I think the image conveys the idea pretty well...it's just a bit too colorful/bright to be "depressing".

I disagree with straightening. The low vantage and tilt give it a "tension" wich goes w/ the idea...I might even consider a bit more tilt.

Thanks sk66, I appreciate your comments.

Played with it a little. Lowered the Vibrancy and the Saturation, and added some more tilt in Aperture.

Have mixed feelings..would you have done it differently?

I think it needs some "grit", maybe a texture or something like this.
B/W layer and colorized layer overlaid w/ reduced opacity.

Agree with sk66, the image needs a grittier look to really convey the decay. As it is, it sort of has a diffuse, dreamy, colorful sort of look. Using ACR I cranked up the Clarity slider and reduced the Saturation and Vibrance sliders.

Great ideas! Thanks.

sk66...I cant quite reproduce your look. I am using Gimp, could you explain the B/W layer and colorized layer? I am getting close, but not quite there.. thanks.
