Default My HDR Try out

Canon EOS 7D using 18-135mm
18mm, f/8.0, ISO 200
EV (-2,0,+2)

I feel it's hard and dirty. Should I make more clear and clean? I'm still struggling with HDR processing. I also think this is because of my kit lens.

What do you think?

Hi!

Nice scenery. I personally like the "hardness" of it

Maybe you can try smoothing the picture out in tone mapping modes of the software you are using?

Here is one of mine with a kit lens. I don't think the lens is at fault.

Colours of Autumn (1 of 1)

It was also a -2,0,+2 EV bias.

I am still new to all photography but as I understand HDR, how you postprocess the photograph really affects the final outcome.

I found a nice tutorial here.

I'll process it again using different settings.

Next time, I shall try to remember to check histogram on the camera. I believe balanced images can make decent HDR.

Also I like your image

I'm not sure which controls does your software have, but try playing with the settings to avoid the overall grainy look in the sand and the water. When I create night hdrs, I always find them to be flat and blurry after tone mapping, but when I sharpen them in Photoshop, they come out as they should. Also, if you're sharpening in PS, do it on a new layer and then mask out the portions you don't want to be sharpened, like the sky. It is very easy to get a noisy hdr, you have to be careful.
