Smile Lake view

New to this forum today. seems a good place to get some real views on some of my photos. This one has been received well by friends etc, but I would like to know what some practiced photographers think of it. Go ahead. I can take it!

Camera used: Canon 30D (with canon 17-85mm)

Used Lightroom to create aged photo and messed with the contrast a bit.

The picture was taken in Austria in the morning.

Can't think of any other details.

Looking for over-all critique on the finished picture and also the composition.

If you want good and effective criticism, you ought to ask about specific parts of the image....color, contrast, composition, mood lighting etc....On first glance, there seems to be too much sky.....almost half the frame is taken up with nothing......I think the shot would be more dynamic if about 2/3 of the sky was taken out.

Thanks. Yes there is far too much sky looking at it now.

Is the horizon a bit crooked (low on the right)? I like the monochrome look. However the bluish thing in the water looks a little weird being the only thing in the shot with color.

I think the composition is almost spot on, although i would like to see a more vibrant black or higher contrast used. Do you have Topaz Adjust?

If so ramp up the strength!

Other than that a very good picture as far as i am concerned.

The bluish thing bothers me too. My eye got caught on that from the first glance.

I think you should have stepped to the right or left a bit. I can't tell what the object in the middle is and I think it is the focal point. Is it a ladder and slide?
