Default How could i improve this photo? first photo!

Well i didnt really like the original photo so i made some changes, i sobreexpose the boys face because it was too dark but i think the face doesnt look real at all, i mean u can notice the photo has been processed, could u advise me how can i improve it?

Default Which one u prefer?

Im kind of new using photoshop so i dont really know if i made a good photo, im would be really glad if u could give me some advises to make a better photo , n also which one u like more? the original photo or the proccessed?

I'm new also and haven't done alot in PS but I think you have too much contrast on your first.

The eye in the wall is a matter of preference to me. I would make the eye really blue if I was going to keep the PP.

That's just my opinion!

in the first photo, there is too much contrast. you could have used a white sheet as reflector. but if you want to edit this photo, you can select all the dark areas and put them in another layer and adjust by using levels or curves. then with layermask, you can fine tune the edges.
after flattening, with levels you can click on the middle eyedropper tool and click on the gray cement between the bricks to correct the cyan cast and further adjust with levels.



the second photo, you can select the eye and adjust the contrast a bit then select inverse the selection to select the concrete and remove the cyan cast.



the third photo just needs a simple levels adjustment. you can see the histogram that the black needs adjustment towards where the histogram starts to rise.

sharpen a bit before saving.
