Default Surrealism?

I've recently begun a picture-a-day project to keep me creative until I go back to school to do my portfolio in the spring. I've been making an effort try some more creative and unusual ideas I've had in an effort to find my photographic niche. Does this image feel "believable"? Does hold interest? Could I do my composites/editing better?

Thanks!

Other than the lighting on the glass coming from behind, and the lighting on the model coming from the front, it's a quite nice composite. That's the only thing that really sticks out to me about it. If you could match the directionality of the light, it would be more "believable" I think.

Adding to the light is that the lady doesn't get deformed by the glass like the sand does. It's hard to do but maybe you can replicate the shot with some tiny figurine inside the glass to see how it gets distorted.

You managed to cut her out of the original background well. At least well enough not to notice fringes on this version you posted.

What would probably add to the idea would be to flip the glass upside down so she would be more trapped inside.

You did a really good job. I would recommend looking at the lighting and making sure lighting matches and the above comment on how someone would be distorted inside glass. But it was a really well cut and a really wonderful edited match. congrats.

Thanks guys for your feed back. Lighting has always been a tricky issue for me, but it is increasingly a detail that can make or break the picture. I'm certain I'll re-visit the idea and will definitely keep that in mind
