Default "Gritty" Speed Shot w/o Motion

I was going for a "gritty" look. Sort of a "James Dean" type idea, with a faint bit of color.
A dark, masculine shot that seems to speak speed, without the use of motion.

What do you think?
What is your opinion of the idea?
What is your opinion of the composition?
Is this too dark?

Any other critiques would be appreciated also.

TIA

To me it's too dark/monotone, not enough contrast.
Composition and idea wise I think it can work...

I think the bike should be more recognisable. I didn't first realize the helmet was on a bike and to me a motorcycle represents speed more than just the helmet. And it is too monotone to me too. It makes my eye go straight to your watermark as if it was a magnet and that's certainly not a good thing.

i'd even think about cropping it to show mainly just the helmet and jacket. removing the bike completely and move the helmet more to the right of the image so it's not dead center. maybe also turning up the highlights a bit

Thanks for your replies.

I appreciate your input. I will work with the photo some more and see what I come up with.

Thanks for taking the time.
