Default First attempt

This is my first attempt to give some artistic look and feel...

I am an amateur in post processing.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks in advance.......

I like it. The colors are nice and I like the halo/glow around the main focal point.

I think the positioning of the leg for me is wrong. I think Id have stuck to the left hand side following the rule of thirds.

But I'm no expert.

Thanks for the comment...

I tried to crop in such a way which follows rule of thirds but i found subject at the center make more appealing so tried it this way....

I saw your flickr account all the pics are great...

I like the artistry of the shot. Here's my thoughts. The white line running through the photo is a bit distracting. I'm not really sure what it is but my eye is drawn to it. It does kind of lead your eye a bit though so maybe just make it bit less bright? I also agree with the crop and would try it so that the subject is slightly more to the left. Also, you should try not to crop people at their joints (knees in this case). These are all minor things that can be fixed with a little pp.

Hello!

Nice pic and nice "touch", especially the colour. I agree about the rule of thirds and think the leg should be slightly more on the left side. The halo around the leg is a nice idea, but I would make it either thinner or less bright (less white). The white line could be used to guide the look of the spectators (us) through the photo.

Could you explain how did you get the colouring effect?

Thanks a lot for sharing!

I think that this might suit a more unorthodox frame ratio - like a wide panorama positioning the shoe on the left and the line flowing out to the right of the picture, cropping from just below the point wehere the line goes off the right edge, up to the point just behind and above the sock of the skate (or whatever it is!).

Alternatively, a crop up the length of the leg, barely as wide as the heel to toe of the skate, but keeping the length from the wheels to above the knee.

You don't always have to frame your pictures in classic aspect ratios, especially when they are of isolated and unusual subjects and you are trying for an artistic affect - break the rules!
