Default Blue Angles

Another shot taken in mid-afternoon, overcast light. Thought the angles and windows were interesting so processed it quite a bit. Does it work?

don't assume comment to view ratio is tell tale of greatness (or lack thereof) - especially of an image that isn't a cute baby a pretty girl or a kitten

does it work as what, exactly?

it's a decent image and processed well, decent colors, but what am i looking at? i think at that focal length, it's just too plain; yes, the angles of the lines are diagonal, but at 50mm the perspective is too plain-jane for me. Even if you tried a high contrast black and white you wouldn't have anything excessively dynamic or dramatic.

as part of series, it would fit well, but as a stand alone image misses the mark in terms of 'punch', and i'm not compelled to look at it for very long.

were it mine, I would have tried working with a wider lens to give some distortion to the lines and make them more engaging, or at least try and find a way to get some divergence within the lines of the building.

technically it's fine, but is just missing that 'something' interesting I look for when looking at architectural shots.

Really I looked at it more as an abstract rather than a true architectural shot. The building itself was pretty plain in terms of shape etc. so taking a wider shot wouldn't have really added much. Plus I was walking around with the wife with all the limits on time and patience that implies! I guess the processing was the biggest part of this shot - the original was pretty dull, taken on an overcast day.

Thanks for commenting.

ahhhh.... might have appreciated it more had the pre-processing been shown too! that being the case, it certainly does appear to be well done. I would have had no idea at this res that it was engineered; it looks like a gorgeous day. so, nice job
