Default Creative Composition - What do you feel / see?

I have contemplated entering this image in a photo contest. While I know there really isn't anything SPECTACULAR about the image, I wonder if I am the only one who see's what I was trying to portray.
Please tell me what feelings are felt when looking at the image... if any. What do you see when you view it? What could I have done to produce a better image? What do you like/ dislike about the image?

I see a lazy summer with three close friends who share tastes in style hanging out, maybe on a bench. It's a calm and peaceful image.

If I really start trying to overthink things, I see some incredible peer pressure to conform, yet one person has to be just a bit different and still maintain some of their individuality while trying to remain part of the group.

Technically, I like the DoF. The background fades away pushing the focus clearly on the feet. I might prefer a slightly different crop (if there's room) where you push the feet a bit lower into the frame, putting the shoelaces more along the bottom third line.

This photo doesn't evoke much for me. 3 kids sitting on a swing, with their legs dangling? I don't know what you are trying to portray, really.

this would be a good concept for a rubber shoes print ad for youngsters!

I ike it. It's simple. There's not a million things trying to compete for attention.

I like this shot. It's simple, well composed, well exposed, and I like the overall contrast in it. Since you say you are submiting it for a contest, I guess it would just depend on what the subject of the contest is all about. It's more of a random shot, doesnt quite fit a category. Just make sure it fits the category and you may have a chance.

Instead of rehashing what Boomer said, I will just copy it.

It does make me feel like I want a new pair of Chucks though!

I like it. It's very clever; the idea is there and very well developed. I would suggest you think about cropping it some more. I ran it through my system and the more I cropped it, the more I liked it.

I like this image, but I see something different from whats been mentioned before. To me it looks like zero gravity where all of them are starting to drift up from the ground. Or maybe I've just been watching too much sci-fi lately. It evokes feelings of being carefree/freedom. And I do love the DOF you've used on it.

hmm, when I first looked at it, I thought three giggling girls......and yet there was a strange lack of energy in the shot for one of three giggly girls. The shoes, though filled with personality, look as though they are lined up on a store shelf ready for sale. If the angle were a bit wider where the shoes were tilted, spread or something to give a sense of movement, it might be better. But for this particular picture, I would go with Lee's advice on the cropping. The focus would be on the color and personality of the shoes...too much of the photo is taken up with blue jeaned legs
