Default Babe in the Woods

This is a picture I took of my baby recently on a walk through the woods.
I think the chin is a bit dark and maybe I should have zoomed more on the baby and not had so much of the path in the picture?

baby woods

EXIF Data:
Camera EOS Digital Rebel XTi
Exposure: 1/1000
Aperture: F2.0
ISO 1600

Edited in Photoshop elements

Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my photo!

What a beautiful little model! I bet it was a wonderful day filled with smiles.

To answer your question, I think a little more zoom would have helped. I do see some promise in this photo though.

For What Its Worth, Improving it could be as simple as 1-2-3
1. There is a tutorial on "Levels" in the tutorial section, done my LeeR. If you follow this, I think it could help with image a little.
2. Straighten the horizon a little, I have the feeling everything is leaning to the left.
3. I am not a huge fan of Vignette, but if you were to do it subtle, it might help with the brightness in the top left and the darkness in the bottom right..and bring my eyes to her cute little expression.

It would also be interesting to see this in B&W.

Take this all for what its worth...it's just my2c's.

But keep it up, I am sure you will get some awesome shots as she grows.

Thank you so much for all of the wonderful tips!! I think you are right that it does look like the photo is leaning a bit left. And a vignette would help the brightness of the sky.
I will check out the tutorial! Thanks so much for all of your input!

Just wanted to share the edit I just did on this photo!

I followed the Levels tutorial
Added a vignette
rotated the photo 3 degrees to the right.

Nice shot! I always struggle with this this type of set up, where the surroundings give the picture some context (like the subject going down a path). It's hard to get the right balance between the main subject and the foreground/background. Good job on the edit!

I think this is a great pic, but then again, after becoming a grandfather, I think all pics of babies are good! LOL..... My only thing on this for being great, is that you kill that little vine at the back of the head. At first I thought it was a chinese pony tail. Sorry. That just jumped at me really hard. But probably pretty easy to PS out. Other than that, I really do like the photo.
