Though I'm not a huge fan of HDR, this is interesting.
However, to answer your question, I'd say YES it's definitely over done. The reason I say this is the "halos" you have around the edges of parts of the image, particularly at the edges of the trees. This is typically seen as a poorly done or over cooked HDR. What do you use for PP? If you have LR, I'd suggest boosting the Filllight and Blacks very very high.. you might get the same effect without the halos. It's what I do if I want the HDRish look despite not being a fan of it. |

As for this one, I think it's too much, but it's your image and it depends what look you want to achieve with it. |

I appreciate your advice people. I can sometimes sit and over edit a picture when i should be tone mapping and making sure that the colors are true then just leave it at that!
I use Photmatix for the original HDR then open the image in Elements to make final adjustments. I will however try your suggestions out on this image. Thanks again for your feedback, which i very much appreciate. Garry |

I like it, even it is a little busy.
However if it was my picture, I would try and tone it down a bit. I would try and keep the sky and clouds like they are, but everything else, I would try and minimize the colors to either, barely noticeable or maybe just muted. Or maybe just pic one color to focus on. Such as the greens.... Or maybe a couple of the brick colors, there's lot to choose from. It may be neat to keep the red flowers and blue/gray sky, but to turn everything else into white/black. Of course, I am a sky fan so that's just me. Thats just my .02 and I am no expert! :P
