Default Statue with contrast heightened ;; does it work?

Roman statue

Camera Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Exposure 0.006 sec (1/160)
Aperture f/6.3
Focal Length 38 mm
ISO Speed 400
Exposure Bias 0 EV
Flash Off, Did not fire

I heightened the contrast a lot here using Canon Digital Photo Professional software. The idea was to make the statue look as if it were glowing in a dark room. Does that work?

i can see wher e you're heading, but to me i tihnk the statues in the backgroud are distracting. i suggest that you try and blur them slighty so the focus is more on the subject. Personally i think it is a great shot. i'd be interested to see how it turns out as a Mono..

I took the liberty to tweak the image by selecting the background and adding a slight Gaussian blur, then editing the Levels and Curves.
Hope you like
