Default How can I fix this?

Ok first my critique: The left side is blown out, the little girl's skin looks too red, the yellow of the playground needs a lil saturation and the focus is a lil soft. Now, I don't think I can fix the blown out parts but is there any way I can fix the skin tone and add the saturation without making the skin tone worse? Is this a good crop? And is there anything else I missed? I welcome any and all critiques.

If you are using photoshop, you could try using the 'selective color' filter to reduce the reds on the image.

Looks like there is too much of the structure blown out.....might try turning it B&W.

Her face is probably red /orange from the play structure casting a color cast on her face. Light will take whatever color it's reflected off of so take this into consideration when taking a picture. Ours eyes naturally adjust for this but the camera is unable to so you need to be aware of the surrounds and anything the sun can possibly reflect off of near by that may give you color issues like you have experienced here. The structure is blown out but her exposure seems fairly decent. There isn't not a whole lot you can do in a situation like this since you have have a large stop difference between the darkest part of the image and the lightest part.

Doing an HDR could get around this problem but its not really a tool you could use in a situation like this. Perhaps some fill flash or a different composition all together.

HI,
I've posted 2 pics here and it showed what I ended up doing with a picture with an orange colour cast from a playhouse. B&W conversion worked (for me), and the picture now hangs on my wall. If you love the picture it's worth a try.

Fill flash would have helped quite a bit in taking this image....

Attached is a quick edit done in PS, probably 10-15 minutes including this explanation.

What I did was duplicate the image and selected the "yellow" section with the magic wand adding until I had all of it selected...then painted with yellow. Erased everything that wasn't selected (select-inverse, then erase) and changed mode to overlay. (could have just selected it in the original then cut and pasted to new layer...)
Duplicated original again and increased saturation for the blues etc. erased the girl from this layer.
original layer copied and reduced saturation of reds.. wound up with 4 layers yellow on top, saturated blues next, desaturated reds next then original on bottom....then flattened.

this is doable in photoshop.
select the plastic arch with magic wand and copied it to another layer (ctrl J) and set the blending mode to multiply to darken the arch without removing the highlight at the left side.
went back to the original layer and with quickmask, using a sharp brush selected the image of child inside the arch. exited quckmask to make a selection and again pressed ctrl J and with levels adjusted to make it lighter, and adjusted the color using hue and saturation. flattened. again with the magic wand clicked on the sky and pressed ctrl J and set the layer blending to multiply. flattened, saved.
