Default 333 Collins

Photographing architecture is not one of the strong points of my repoitoire, but given that I had taken a day off from work today to take advantaged of the sun after a few weeks of gloomy clouds, I took a stroll down to 333 Collins Street, one of the grandest and most opulent looking office buildings in the Melbourne CBD. I've been through this building on several occassions, and have always admired its architecture while making the mental note to myself to take a photograph of the hallway. I finally got around to it today.

For the record, the experience of drinking coffeee in the Strozzi, the coffee shop on the right, is something that every Melburnian should partake in at least once.

EXIF:
Canon 1000D; Sigma 10-20mm
Mode: Manual
White Balance: Tungsten
Aperture: f/22
Shutter-speed: Bulb (45 second exposure)

Post processing: HDR in Photomatix, Curves in Photoshop, Noise reduction in Noiseware

Comments, anyone?

I like! Though, I'm a big fan of HDR shots, and I love the fact that it's wide. (That's going to be my next lens next month!)

I like the lighting and colors captured in this shot. With HDR it's usually hit or miss when trying to get those dramatic lighting effects, but all in all this is a good wide open shot with no distractions or random people walking around, that must have been tough to time.

Cheers mate!

What if I told you that I shot this at about 12:30pm when the lobby is at its busiest with office workers shuttling in and out during their lunch breaks? You've got to love slow shutter speeds and high aperture numbers!

Great shot...slow shutter works great in places like this if you have the time and ability to do so.
I love the shot I can only see two things and one is just my personal preference.
An image with this much symmetry I feel should be totally semmetryical and this is ever so slightly askew. and if it were my shot I'd lower the saturation just a tad....but the shot itself is wonderful.
I also love shooting architecture but haven't been lucky enough to go anywhere with great buildings.
Very nice work.

This is an absolutely drop-dead, gorgeous pic. My only suggestion would be to crop the left side to match the right. Beautiful work! - Carla
