Default Selective Color Critique

Would anyone mind giving me a little feedback on the selective color work? Composition feedback? Thanks in advance!

Your selective color selections tells me that the main focus/subject of this pic is the car tail lights.

This is a photo that I think selective color definitely works. When I usually see selective color, it's in a B/W photo of a bouquet of flowers, and the one in the middle is in color. Ehhh.

Here, I think the selective color is great because it's much more natural to always see red on the tail lights, yet a B/W photo of a car is natural, too. So, it's subtle, but it works. And this is not overly, crazy red in the lights.

I really like this. And nice car! :-)

Just makes me ask 'why?' I don't get it. Why the focus on the tail lights?

I'm with SaraJane. I can see it as an exercise to practice selctive coloring. But as a stand alone photo, what's the point here? Why draw the viewer's eye to the car's tail lights?

Because the tail lights are naturally red my focus was on the house. It's amazing what your mind takes for granted as normal. I am not much into selective colouring but as this feels natural, it works. Great image.

I normally feel that selective coloring is one of those gimmicks that people use to try to save a normally uninteresting photo so my opinion may be a biiiit biased.

I did like that you tried to at least change the perspective a bit by lowering yourself closer to the ground (or you're very very very short! )
Some suggestions:
Get the car in front of a plainer background. The house and greenery is distracting and doesn't add anything to this image in my opinion.
The glare on the windows is distracting since your eye is drawn to the brightest part of an image normally.
I don't get why the selective coloring on the taillight, normally it's done to highlight something interesting, and I don't see how the lights are the interesting element here.
I it's going to sound a bit harsh, but to me this is simply a snap shot of a car to which selective coloring was applied to try to add interest. In the end, it's a car on a street in front of a house.
These sorts of images really need to be thought out, and I think the best thing you could have done was have the car in front of a plainer/more interesting backdrop.

Keep shooting, car photography is great and not easy (which is why I don't do it) since it's difficult to be creative. Cheers!

Thanks for the replies everyone. The car was black, and these cars have a unique tail light shape, so I thought I would draw attention to that. If I had colored the whole car, you probably would only see colored reflection. It was kind of a candid vehicle shot while I was walking around wilmington. I did manage to kneel down in the road to try to get a better perspective, still learning the whole composition thing though. I really appreciate the constructive critism, and if anyone else has any thoughts, I more than welcome them
