Default Sit by the flowers

unprompted, my daughter sat down here beside these tulips....

Here is my processed work....
I put a vintage feel on it with some vignette and then cropped... but...
did i over do?
what does it lack?

below is the original... as i said this was unprompted and quick... couldnt get a "great" shot .. so.. working with PSE8 to get to it
Sit with the flowers
Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/320)
Aperture: f/7.1
Focal Length: 55 mm
ISO Speed: 200

DSC_7526

I have just recently been working on doing processing to my work other than the regular stuff... all critique is appreciated

Tones looks nice.. I like the vintage feel , but not in favour of the dark left side of the frame. I feel it should be even, as it kind of isolates the nice kid sitting there.

I once heard a seasoned photographer say that most budding photographers think that vignetting will make the picture look more professional. As I continue to study great pictures, I notice that most pros don't use vignetting often.

That said, I'll say that I love the PP coloring you've done. I think the photo is good enough on its own (after the crop) to leave off the vignetting.

Great capture though!

I definitely like the retro feel here, but the vignette makes the center of the photo stick out like a sore thumb with a weird washed-out look.

If you could keep that retro feel aross the photo, but lessen the vignette, that would look great!

I really like the original (after a little cropping). It is bright and colorful and gives the feeling that Spring is in the air.
