Default Beauty retouch

Hi. Here is a pic of friend captured for retouch practice. This is the first retouch where I did not blur the skin to soften/smooth it.

Let me know what you think overall about the retouch.

Excellent job on the skin! Although, I think you could have left some of the freckles in just to keep it more true to nature. If I hadn't seen the original it would be hard to tell that there was much done on the skin, so good job. The hair looks a little more obvious, you can tell that there was some editing done on it (hair is difficult sometimes). Beautiful subject by the way, excellent teeth and a great smile!

Cheers!

Thanks. I'm glad it's hard to tell that a lot of work has been done to the skin. I try to keep it realistic and not over do it.

I agree, if they were freckles or moles I would have left them in unless requested otherwise. But she wanted the "sun spots" removed. I didn't know what sun spots were until recently. I guess people get them when they are older.

Yes, hair is difficult to do and can take as long if not longer to work than skin. Hair is my Achilles heel.

I'd have never guessed they were age spots - they were small enough that they looked like freckles. If all was done by request, then excellent work!

lol, age spots. I hope that doesn't give away her age.

Looking back and forth between the two, you can tell you really put a lot of work into this edit! Down to the eyebrows.

Great edit, you can't even tell the retouching.

Nice retouch on the face. Even at full size it stays pretty realistic. The hair retouch is quite noticeable, but hair is really tough against that type of background. The only thing you can do it replace it with a dark background.

Excellent job! Perfect example of retouching and giving the skin a natural look, retaining the texture but "cleaning it up". I see far too much skin smoothing where the subject looks plastic these days. This is really, really good.

Very nicely done. Nothing to critique, and I wish you had posted it in the technique section.

Any chance on you sharing the process that you went through in PP to get these results?
