Default Textured Sea Grass

Hoping this is the best section of critique to post this in, feel free to move it if it isn't.

Just wondered what people thought of my latest dabble with textures - is it too much? Does it work? Should I have stuck to the original photograph minus textures? Is it any good?

Much appreciated

I like it. Can we see the original though?

Thanks - not at the moment as I haven't uploaded it to flickr as yet. Will try to at some point later.

I think it works really well. Bit muted colors give a nice feel to it. Perhaps try how a little vignette on the right side also would look?

I'd hang this on my wall.

I like it a lot. If this were printed and hanging on a wall, I would think it was a painting. So unless you were going for a subtle edit, I think you nailed it.

I like it but I am wondering about the very center where it appears slightly blown out....almost looks like smoke coming up through the grasses. To me, it looks a bit distracting but otherwise, I think it looks fabulous and would look great in a beach house

Thank you. I might have a play with vignettes at some point.

It was something that happened when I overlaid the texture, and I quite liked the effect, so rather than erase it, I kept it.

Thank you very much for your thoughts and comments.

I like the photo as well... It would look good on a wall in a nautically themed room with a lighthouse or something next to it.

I do have a slight issue with 2 curved lines on the lower left, and one curved line on the mid right edges of the picture, maybe a layer is not stacked correctly, but those three curved lines look more like background than foreground textures. possibly a blending issue.

It looks great! As pjflan7 mentioned the heavy texture in the center part is slightly distracting. If would be interesting to see with the texture fading out on the lower part. It might be nice to leave the natural grass texture in the lower third of the image (also solve the center texture) while matching it with the texture overlay in the upper two thirds where it is mainly sky. You would have to play with it some. In my mind it works, but that says nothing about what it would actaully look like. Great shot though. I could easily see it in an office somewhere!
