If possible getting down on the ground there and using the rocks on near the river bed as a foreground element to the sandstone wall I feel would have made for a stronger image. Right now the rocks and the lines in the rock lead my eye out toward the water, once at the water my eye falls out of the image. I also don't think tone mapping / hdr was really necessary in this situation. I think just doing a curve adjustment, saturation adjustment could create a more natural looking image (if that's what you were going for). I think the hole in the wall and green moss under it is pretty interesting, maybe getting down low and close to this part of the wall could work well too.
Just some thoughts for next time, looks like a pretty cool place I'm sure there is a sweet image in there somewhere. With out being able to see the surround area however it's hard to say what I would have done. I think your on the right track, certainly I would revisit this place if possible.
