Default Sycamore bud

This shot was originally very flat but I liked the composition and decided to try some textrues on it (something I've only just started playing with) There are 5 layers (image, texture, image, texture, texture) in total with varing blend modes and opacities. Thanks to skeltallmess for the helpful tutorials (thats where I learned to have a second image copy half way up the stack set to multiply) and ofcourse for teh wonderful textreu downloads.

I also used a layermask over the bud to remove the bokeh textreu layer. Any comments and critique are more than welcome as I want to improve my texture work,

I like it. I like the textures and the colors. The one suggestion I might make is a different placement of the bud. Having come into the frame right in the middle is for me anyway, a bit off. And maybe a little less negative space in front of it
Are you referring to Skeletal Mess from Flickr?

I like the texture technique. The tip about the 5 layers is a good one. I'll have to try that myself. Agreed about the position of the bud. It just isn't drawing my eye. I also feel that it's getting a bit lost in all the bokeh. Maybe increase the saturation a tiny bit on the colour of the bud to make it pop? Overall I really like the texture effect here, but the subject isn't as interesting as the texture!
