Hi everybody, just wanted your general thoughts about use of HDR/tonemapping here. This is a building in the almost-ghost town of Shaniko, Oregon. I realize the subject/composition isn't terribly interesting, but I wanted to experiment with a few things in qtpfsgui and GIMP. Thanks in advance for your comments.

The image isn't overdone and cartoonish which is always a good thing. I like how the bricks kind of 'pop' at you.
The image does give me a feeling of abandonment though, which works since you said it's a near ghost town.

Looks good to me not over done but close to being over the top color wise I think. I personally wouldn't have saturated the image so much, I would have backed the saturation out just a hair especially for the reds. No halos are present which is a big positive, halos ruin a picture for me. like you mentioned before the subject isn't terribly interesting. I think if you shot directly onto the building and used the white frames of the windows and doors as a compositional tool may have created a more interesting image.
Nicely done especially for the tool you used. I know that tool is one of the more difficult tools to use when tone mapping.
