Default Color at the end of the Pergola

I know that people say that negative saturation and color back in is an old technique, but I happen to like it, so I gave it a shot. Whether you're a fan of the style or not, what do you think?

I see the color

What I really appreciate in your shot is your perspective and composition as well as the lines above. As for the color treatment, for me it didn't add something special in the photo because there's nothing special with the portion that was not desaturated. Just my two cents.

Cheers!

Thank you for the input. I went back to the original shot this morning and saw that the columns had really nice color and texture that no one gets a chance to see in this photo.

i happen to like it. I do not think it is a question of people like it or not liking it. I think the technique has been over done, in the commercial world, so we have seen it a lot. Your shot is well composed...the eye follows the lines, and whether you chose to saturate or not saturate the trees on the end, was a personal choice (as are all our photos), but it does not take away from the fact that you took a great well composed shot.

My two cents.

The negative saturation took the greenery away from the focal point of the image. On the other hand, the viewer will look at the top of your photo first since our eyes always seek out the brightest parts of a photo.

Compare it with the crop of this saturated sample.
