Default Hdr

Hello, this is my first HDR

I thought it was a good subject to try it on. Done it with Photoshop and nothing else, is this good enough? Have I done it right?

Any comments would be appreciated

Cheers,

Pretty good HDR But it's a little bright for my tastes. You could try darkening it a bit on photoshop which might help a little.
When i make HDRs i use "qtpfsgui" to make the HDR touch up the photo in photoshop. Qtpfsgui is a free program to download, and is really good to have a play around with. "Mantiuk" is a particular favorite blending mode of mine on it

as jbm 1991 says, it is too bright and just a liitle soft.
you can try pressing ctrl J to duplicate the layer and change the the blend mode to multiply.
if you find the rocks on top still light, you can just select it with a lasso tool and press ctrll J again to darken it some more and sharpen a little the rock layer with unsharp mask.

JackinthePan, would it be possible for you to post, or link to the images on flickr or somewhere. Then myself and others could have a try making an HDR and if it's one you like we can tell you how we did it.

Best wishes
John

Did you use 3 or more bracketed shots for the hdr?

Hey, i will definately try that program out, jbm1991.

I used 3 shots for this. I do really like this shot, I like the glow from it. And great tip, edbayani, I played about with this a bit but got nothing I liked as much, just sometimes feel I'm over processing, might be something I will start from scratch.
Don't know if I fully understand what HDR is yet?? I'm seeing a lot of fantasy-like images which I am not sure I like as much. Is my pic really HDR?

Would I benefit from something like Photomatix?
