Hi All I did not know where to post this if it is in the wrong place I appologise, I took this photograph awhile ago at Australia Zoo and I want to know if I have overprocessed this does it look to overdone or is it ok?

Sorry not 100% sure of the EXIF Data

Just looking for critique on the post processing which included a bit of Dodging and Burning as well as vingaretting the background to much?????

It certainly doesn't look a very natural result. It might be worth taking a step back and thinking about what you were trying to achieve as that may or may not be a good thing.

Yep , theres a name for it , Baked HDR , I can never understand why people ask others is this overdone , do you not know what you like? , by asking them and doing what they say your producing a HDR to the level they would , how original. I'm sure all the great artists of the world spent their time asking everyone else what colours to use .I make my living from HDR so consider I know a little about it. I am often critised for having the baked look or for the unimaginative "overdone" , but guess what , when the everyday man wants a shot of his pride and joy to show off to his mates it's the wild unreal ones that sell the most. Its something different to them , stretch your own boundaries and try everything in between , find subjects that you love to photograph and a level of processing that YOU think enhances the subject and you cant go wrong , theres lots of people out there who dont have a purist veiw and will appreciate what you do .Remember its HDR , if you want natural dont process the shot (???) Good luck with it .

Bradzo 66: What a great bit of artistic advice you've posted! I couldn't agree more. Know and have confidence in your vision. I'd like to see you expand on your thoughts for one of the DPS articles.

Besides the huge watermarks, i really like this shot. I do not think its overdone. On a side note, i very much agree with Brad66. There is no right way to do an hdr, or right way to process a picture. You obviously like it this way so why not keep it? Unless your asking for a customer standpoint. But what do i know? Good job.

I like it except
1) I would back off on the vignette a little,
2) I would have framed it leaving more space on the right (for the bird to look into). Having the beak right up to the edge bothers me for some reason.
Well done.

Personally, I love the processing. Not too overdone for my tastes.

The only thing I don't like about this picture is the vignette. Vignettes make stuff look cheap sometimes and this is one o those cases. This is my opinion. I think the colors and everything else are fine, though. Like mentioned above, how much is too much is largely a matter of opinion.
