Default So, is this too much editing for you?

This originaly was a VERY flat photo, so I began editing. My question is, do you think I went too far with it? Thanks!!

It depends on your purpose. If you wanted to make the whole image appear surreal, I can say you did a good job as the colors look unnatural here. I must say I liked the lighting for this capture. Thank you for sharing!

Cheers!

Not if this was what it took to get it to an acceptable level. Looks like a painting, works for me.

Ok - thanks all... I have been kind of in a wierd phase lately with my editing. I find that I seem to be going towards a totally unnatural feel and just wanted a bit of feedback thanks again.

I like it too. Surreal is a good word for the effect.

Nice composition. The stairs really lead the eye to the doorway and who knows what lurks through there. Mysterious and maybe a little scary. Kind of like the entrance to the secret garden.

Be interesting to play with it and see what other looks you can achieve. Maybe something dark and spooky?

Schiavo- I started out with photography and then got into editing and realized the fantasy over the top or more artistic looking shots I like the best....this would be a great book cover or a calander cover or anything really needing that mystical type of shot.
From looking at the foreground I think the original would look more like a littered stairway but this begs the eyes to go up and follow the stairs......taking the eyes off the litter strewn foreground.
Nicely done in my opinion if this is what the intent was. Now if you told me "Do you think this looks natural?" Then I'd have to say no....but you knew what it was suppose to end up as and it looks great that way. Whatever mood your editing goes let loose and explore it. You might just run across a new love for it.
