A simple shot, but a little HDR helps the texture of the petals show up a bit. I'm still struggling to find a tree in full bloom with a nice, dark backdrop that'll show off what these look like when they're splashed across the forest.

Cool shot. It's an interesting shaped flower. TFS and keep shooting!

I really like the texture on the petals. Looks like HDR was the right choice

P.S. I forgot to look at those links at home (the ones for local photo meet ups). Have you looked into it any further? Would you want to meet up sometime to shoot? I will have to go back to the other post so I can ask the girl that responded as well. I would really like to plan something

The one group has a meetup scheduled on Sunday at the Columbus Museum of Art to view an exhibition called "Radical Camera". It's photos from NYC from the 30's and 40's, I guess. Sounds interesting, but I'm not sure I wouldn't rather be somewhere shooting my own photos instead.

Re: planning something, I guess we'd have to figure out what we want to shoot.

Weather-permitting, any of the metro parks would work, or there's always the conservatory or the zoo, but I'd love to try something new if anyone's got any great ideas.

Very much like this image- the processing was spot on to bring out the detail but not overwhelming to the subject. TFS.
