All well done, but particularly love the imagery in Ouzel Falls, RMNP and the colours plus the unusual perspective of Balloon Launch

Love 'em.

If you don't mind the questions, what software and how many images are you using per image?

Default questions

don't mind at all.. after all, this is Digital Photography "School" right?

I've always used Photomatix (their new version is just terrific), and always 3 photos.. I've tried 5 and 7, but unless you are looking out of a window into bright sun, I've never found that the extra shots help out very much at all.. plus my camera will auto take 3 shots, but not 5 or 7.. so I've always leaned that way...

I know Photoshop is supposed to yield more "realistic" hdr shots, but I think mine aren't too "over the top".. just gotta keep that smoothing tool down to 20 percent or so and increase micro-smoothing and you're good to go...

Cheers,
Greg

Thank you. I was curious because the results you are posting are outstanding and at this point, I think my biggest hangup is how many images to use. Best I can figure out is it's trial and error. In the thread I posted last night, I first went with 7 with the caboose and ended up that 3 worked the best. I didn't post the result of the wagon because of the ghosting, but the 7 image result was nice, whereas I took some night shots of a grain elevator a couple of weeks ago and the 7 image result was the best. The 3 image result was very poor. In fact, I think if I added a couple of more images to the elevator, it would be better.

I've been using the demo version of Dynamic Photo HDR. Works great as long as I frame my picture so the software watermark doesn't take away from the final image
