Cool. It always gets me how effective this technique is, with the right subject.

Thanks for sharing! I've never done any Tilt Shift work and I'm curious what you mean by the "pseudo" aspect of this image. Was it taken with a normal lens ( your EXIF suggests an 28-135 zoom). If so, what did you do in PP to produce the tilt shift feel? Curious minds want to know

THANKS!

You're exactly right! I took it with the 28-135mm and used Photoshop to simulate - "pseudo" the tilt shift effect. To do this, I followed this tutorial here - Tilt Shift Tutorial. You have to play with the masking a bit to get the right amount of spacing for the blur.

Static,
Thanks for posting the link! I looked at it and toyed with it and I like the results despite not having good shots to start it with. It seems to work best with a combination of a slightly "top down" angle and a wider angel lens. I now need to go out & shoot some shots with that in mind!
Much appreciated!

I hate to sound like an idiot if it is a scale model but it looks like a little model building.

Yes, the tilt and shift technique commonly gives the subject the appearance of being a scale model. When done right, the photographer should get this asked a lot! heheh.

@Helicity - Digital Aura hit it right on the nose, the Tilt-Shift effect is supposed to make the subjects in the image appear to be a small model. Check out these other cool photos 50 Beautiful Tilt Shift Photos hosted by Smashing Magazine.

Cheers!
