Default how can i make this look good?

ugh- i shot my first wedding a few weeks ago and am in the processing phase. i definitely made a lot of mistakes and learned a lot. unofrtunately this is the ONLY shot i got of the kiss during the ceremony (i know, know!) and i'm wondering if anyone can give me some suggestions about how to make this look ok. i am thinking about cropping it and making it black and white and possibly putting an effect or two to make it look 'artsy'. my style does lean towards the vintage look so this isn't too far off for me. the beams that appear to be coming out of their heads is terribly distracting, also. can i fake bokeh that somehow? any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

That's pretty blurry. I'd crop vertically, convert to B/W and add a noise filter to it, make it look a bit old-school or vintage. It may not be your style, but thats gonna be the only way of 'saving' this shot.

I always find it best to separate the bride & groom from all others, since it is their special day after all!

I hope you don't mind, but I played with your picture a bit to give you an idea of what you can do with these kinds of shots.

This one was a bit hard to work with since it's a bit out of focus...

Anyhoo, I cloned out that annoying beam in the back, and some of the people that were in between your camera and the stars of the day.

Using selective color always helps get the point across as to what you should be looking at in a busy image.

This isn't the best work, just an idea.

I also had a quick play - I'll try & attach it here.

The one I got from this thread is only c.1000 pixels wide - what size was the original? More can be done with that, I'm sure.

Hi Tracey.

Since you are into vintage concept, here's what I did and hope it helps. This was edited and enhance in Picasa. Cropped and use sepia to come up with vintage look plus doing a soft focus to the couple adds a very classy vintage appearance.

Hope you like it.
