First time posting here.
We had some professional photos taken of the kids. What do you think she has done to the photo? I can't get mine to look like this at all. There is another photographer that I also really like but I don't know if it is against the rules to post a link to her site to ask the same question. Please let me know if that is allowed. I don't want to break any rules here.

You can post a link to the site. We prefer if you don't directly link to pictures (especially don't download and re-upload them). But if you link to a site and it's a particular picture, tell us what gallery and what picture or link to the photo's page.
Looks to me like the colours are pretty saturated except for the skin, and it looks like there's a vignette. Try searching for "color pop" for your post-processing program of choice and you should find some tutorials. For example, here's one from Flickr: Flickr: Discussing Tutorial: Make Your Colors Pop!!! in PhotoShop

Thanks, Nicole. Here is the site:
f8kids » I'm interested in the photos that start with the "18 Months" title (scroll down a few pics). I love her vibrant colors and can't seem to get close to that. Any thoughts on what type of lens she uses? I see some comment that says, "gotta love that 85mm f1.4 lens." |

You photographer is amazing. Some really great shots on her website. I'd like to emulate her too! There is a whole lot going on in her pics. Some good glass to let her control the depth of field and some great post processing effects...and she just has a very good sense of style and composition. It's more than just upping the saturation or adding a gausean blur layer...
