Default What type of processing do you think has been done to this photo?

First time posting here.

We had some professional photos taken of the kids. What do you think she has done to the photo? I can't get mine to look like this at all.

There is another photographer that I also really like but I don't know if it is against the rules to post a link to her site to ask the same question. Please let me know if that is allowed. I don't want to break any rules here.

You can post a link to the site. We prefer if you don't directly link to pictures (especially don't download and re-upload them). But if you link to a site and it's a particular picture, tell us what gallery and what picture or link to the photo's page.

Looks to me like the colours are pretty saturated except for the skin, and it looks like there's a vignette. Try searching for "color pop" for your post-processing program of choice and you should find some tutorials. For example, here's one from Flickr: Flickr: Discussing Tutorial: Make Your Colors Pop!!! in PhotoShop

Default Here is the site

Thanks, Nicole. Here is the site:

I'm interested in the photos that start with the "18 Months" title (scroll down a few pics). I love her vibrant colors and can't seem to get close to that.

Any thoughts on what type of lens she uses? I see some comment that says, "gotta love that 85mm f1.4 lens."

Well to me one looks a bit bleach bypass'y (i made that word up ) with the desaturated back ground. The black and white effect almost looks Hi Key and the vibrant colours look like maybe some kind of contrast adjustment? A mixture of curves and a duplicated layer using overlay mode and possibly blurred?

These are just guesses im probably way off lol

You photographer is amazing. Some really great shots on her website. I'd like to emulate her too! There is a whole lot going on in her pics. Some good glass to let her control the depth of field and some great post processing effects...and she just has a very good sense of style and composition. It's more than just upping the saturation or adding a gausean blur layer...

Isn't it ridiculously good? The pic I posted and the website are not from the same person. I found the website because one of the guys on f8studios.com (weddings) did a wedding for a friend down in San Miguel de Allende (also on their site) and the pictures were amazing.

Okay, I'm going to try playing with the all the suggestions here. I really wish I was better at photoshop.

You guys are great.
