Default Is Adobe RAW converter better than DPP for converting RAW?

Hi
I got a Canon 500D a week ago, and am shooting RAW for the first time. I have been experimenting with Adobe RAW converter in Elements 7 and the Digital Photo Professional software that came with the camera. Are either of them noticeably better, or are they about the same?

Thanks

one would assume that they would both have their own strong points, you just have to work out what they are. id use the one that can do what you want the easiest and the quickest, with good results. =]*

personally i use the RAW converter with CS4.
