Hi, can anyone explain how to do a mono with a touch of color if using gimp to pp?
Thank you in advance. I very much enjoy this forum and all the information available to learn from. R Ahrens

I know you asked for gimp,I use pshop but I know gimp will use layers so I assume this way will work the same.
There will many ways to do the same thing, but the simplest way would be to duplicate your picture thus giving you 2 layers. Select the top layer and desaturate it or grayscale, whichever you prefer,so at this point you will have a greyscale layer above a coloured layer. Then select the eraser tool and working on the greyscale layer erase the areas you want to reveal colour from underneath. Zoom in when erasing to make life easy. Have fun.

thanks, I will try that right away. I am very new to post processing and trying to decide on a program. Thought I would start with the free one and go from there.
Have a great day.
