Default Paint Shop Pro X2

I sincerely apologize if this is the wrong place for this question. I did a search and dug around as deep as I could and didn't see it posted any place.

I use Paint Shop Pro x2. I just can't afford Photoshop. Are there any tutorials out there for me or am I basically SOL?

I can find a few tuts here and there, but monstly they are for cheesy tubes and web graphics.

I want to buy the e-book 123 book but it's all about photoshop

I have PSP x2 and have yet to see a good "how to" book on any of the Corel PSP products. As satated previously, the only thing I could ever find was on You Tube but even that was scant. You can look at Photoshop Element books, then try and find similar methods for PSP sine they are "kind of" the same. I eventually went with Photoshop though as I gave up. There are more books for that than I care to mention.

The other option if $ is an issue is go with GIMP. I've found some books for that at the local bookstore. GIMP is free I belive.

Let me know if you do find anything...

I also use PSP x2 so I hear your pain. One book to consider is "Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 for Photographers." It doesn't go over tutorials but if you learn how to use the different functions of the program you can translate most Photoshop tuts over to PSP. When I was first learning PSP I would look at a tut, google the crap out of it, take notes and then read PSP's online help to see how to do it. Just a thought.

You can also buy plugins that work with PSP that can give your pictures those neat looks. We use Virtual Photographer (free program), topaz adjust (free trial) and Tiffen (non plug in version is $99).

I hope this helps If you have specific question message me and I can try to help you!

You can translate just about any PS tutorial into PSP terms.

This might help a little:

Photoshop to Paint Shop Pro Term Dictionary

Not all the PS terms are in it so you might have to look around a bit to find what you're looking for. PSP can do just about anything PS can. Don't give up.

You could always use The Gimp - located here GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program

It is open source which I am a big advocate of. People say that it isn't as powerful as Photoshop - never used PS but I have no reason to doubt them - but I have been able to do or find anything that I want to do by searching for gimp tutorials. I have listed some below.

http://www.gimp.org/turoials
Gimp-tutorials.net - Gimp , tutorials , brushes , downloads, forum.
GIMP Tutorials | Design Links | Tutorial Blog
http://www.fotolinq.com/
YouTube - fotolinq's Channel

Those are just a few. Doesn't hurt to try and you can always get rid of it if you don't like it.
