Hello,
This is my first post - I'll keep it short! I've been using my trusty LX3 for a few months now - and have recently begun capturing RAW images (RAW + JPEG). I've begun editing using UFRaw (running within GIMP) and can see that the RAW image provides more clarity (especially viewed at 100% zoom). Basically - I've read about the different colour and camera profiles you can use for each individual camera - but can't seem to find any such files for the LX3. Do they exist? Or are they limited to dSLR's only? I suppose it's no big deal - but it just sounds as if loading these specific camera presets makes editing that little bit faster. Thanks, Dan |

I believe you're talking about the camera matching profiles as discussed in the link below. I have found Adobe's profiles work very good as a preset to make the initial look of your RAW file almost identical to the camera's JPEG. Keep in mind that this is a preset and non-destructive to the RAW file. These only work with Camera Raw and Lightroom. Apple's Aperture also has built in pre-sets, but they are not as good, IMO. I don't know if there are any available for GIMP.
