Default Card made in gimp low resolution?

I finally got some pics taken of my kiddos and made a holiday card. This is the first time I've made a card using layers. My old editing program didn't have layers persay. Anyway, I tried to turn it into a postcard through winkflash and it said the image is low resolution and not recommended for printing. Can someone please tell me why? And is there a way to fix it? Here is my card.

Did you set the resolution when you started the project?

What I mean to say is that when you pressed File->New, what values did you use in Advanced Options->X Resolution and Y Resolution?

I normally use 300 dip for both X and Y Resolution.

No I sure didn't change that. It was at 72 dpi. Thanks so much! I'll change it and make the card again! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The other thing to set is the resolution of the image you are importing.

If the image you are importing is of low resolution, then the above step that I mentioned in previous post will be useless.

Thing to keep in mind is that all photos should be high res and the task mentioned in previous post should be high res.

Good Luck

Do you know what pixel sizes your photo and your card are, and what size did you want to print your card?

ohh and what DPI does your file have?

Sorry a few questions there

My pic I imported was 300dpi x300dpi. I wanted to make a 5x7 card but I ended up making it a standard postcard size and ordering through vistaprint. I'm cheap and I wanted cute but cheap cards! lol

Thank you so much! Try making a card in Gimp if you've never worked with layers before. That really helped me understand layers a little better and the advantages of them. I still don't know how to do a lot of photo editing with layers but I'm picking it up faster since I made my card. I still have a lot to learn but I can walk you through how I made my card if you would like. Just message me and I'll be happy to help! I had a really hard time figuring things out when I first started using gimp!
