Image Manipulation Software
Whats the best PP software for a newbie serious amateur? I hear that PS elements is good. Would like to get something that has a good HDR tool. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Corel Paint Shop Pro has HDR program built in.
Doesnt have the built in tone mapping like Photmatrix does (I think thats the one) but just like anything else, you can do your tone mapping within the program. You just have to do it manually.

There are some free open source HDR tools that offer tone mapping maybe they look or feel different to the ones in photoshop but worth a try if it could save you some money. If you had Photoshop already then of course you would use the tools with in that or maybe you would feel better with a commercial product either way happy HDR-ing lol
