Default Gray background on photoshop

Hi

I just downloaded CS4 photoshop and when i open it there's no background just the toolbars. I've used older versions and they have a gray background. Right now my background is transparent so if i click it, it will go to the desktop.

thanks in advanced, and hope that made sense

firstly, have you used this version before?

Secondly, what OS are you using.

Finally, it is in the settings (under preferences i believe) just look around.

IIRC*, hit "F".

*I don't have CS4, but I read about this in Kelby's book on the subject. Apologies if this is not the right key.
