Default Need Photoshop Ideas

I'm looking to expand the canvas on the right side of this photo and want to paste in a copy of a portion of the background as I've done on the attachment. I've purposely left the seam so you can see what I'm aiming to do.

The question is, what method should I use to make it seamless in Photoshop? Even minor variation in light across the scene produces the seam due to the differences in the adjoining areas.

Removing the background sky from the lighthouse will probably be a painstaking process due to the tiny railing elements.

Thanks

Not sure if you are looking for something this simple but for shots like this I take the image and flip it horozontally. Add the new image next to the old one and crop as you see fit. It's not often you can do something this simple with good results but for this image I think it works well.

That's exactly what I ended up doing. I'm lucky with this photo that I can do that.

Thanks.
