Default Printer Suggestions?

I'm looking to buy a printer for my photos that will give me a high quality print. I'm just looking for 5X8 or maybe up to 8X10 prints. Does anyone have any suggestions on specific printers?

Thanks

I'm extremely happy with my Epson Stylus Photo 1400. Its an excellent printer for the price (under $400 US) but its in the 13 x 19 size category. Go large!

Thanks! That's about what I had in mind. Anotehr question for you: You feel like you spend a lot of money on replacing ink?

It will always be cheaper to have your photos printed by labs. You just don't get the immediate satisfaction of a printout. To be honest, I have an HP Photo printer and a Sony Dye Sublimation photo printer and neither of them have printed a photo in over a year. Just much cheaper to do it online or even to send it online to a local printer (like Walgreens).

The 1400 uses 6 individual ink cartridges which I find a little more economical because you change just the one color that's low at a time. But overall, ink can get pricey with anything if you do heavy printing. I use my printer mostly for graphic design comps and the final always goes to a lab.
