Default Lightroom 3 Beta released - It sounds awesome

The beta version of lightroom 3 has been released and it looks amazing. Official blog is here: Lightroom Journal

What 3 things are you most excited about:

Mine
  1. Improved Noise Reduction and Sharpening (and improved RAW gubbins overall)
  2. Ability to publish direct to flickr and manage from with Lightroom (with a watermark and everything)
  3. Post crop vignette that doesn't look like crap

Looks good.

Like all the features you mentioned, as well as these:

- The Collections panel is now available in the Develop Module
- An icon has been added to grid thumbnails to indicate that an image is part of a collection. Click on that icon to view and/or visit the collection
- Watermarking made much easier

Only had a quick play so far. Not impressed by the Flickr Publish Service; I'll be sticking with Jeffry Friedl's Export to Flickr plugin.

Hope to have a proper play this evening.

Ooooh, thanks for that. Just downloading it now. Looks promising. I still wish they'd find a good way to implement having the catalog on a network drive though. Or a way to sync the catalog between computers (given that they've obviously been working with some syncing of things given the Flickr stuff). Oh, and it'd be nice if they had better integration with plugins, but I can live without.

Boo - This thread got moved to PP section. Now know one will see it.

Seriously though, I did actually apply some thought as to where to put this. Since it wasn't a thread asking for help with PP or specfic advice on what software to buy I thought it didn't really fit here. Given that it was about lightroom which is much more than PP and a thread of a chatty nature where everyone can have their input I chose Gerneral Chit Chat - Obviously I was wrong.

I think most of my problems with the Flickr integration have been due to user error although the fact that if you delete a photo on Flickr it kind of renders the Lightroom sync useless is not really expected behaviour.

One thing I've noticed is that it seems to render the files a bit quicker in terms of using external plugins.
