Default How do I ?

I recently purchesed a program called photomatx , inorder to expeirment with some HDR formatted photography ,
I have no issues when processing multible images to get a true HDR , how ever when I process a single file for tonemapping i keep getting an error message ,
it seams i need to convert to a 16 bit tiff , the only software i have is photoshop elements 7.0 and gimp 2.6
both programs will convert to tiff but eatner in 8 bit or 24 bit ,
my question is how and or what do i need to do to get a 16 bit tiff

Default JPG to TIFF

Open with either program and I think all you need to do is "Save As" and select the "TIFF" format.

You will need to change your working color space in GIMP to 16-bit, then save as TIFF. I don't currently have GIMP installed but I will have it soon, and will get the exact steps if you are still having issues, please let me know if this works, I will monitor this thread.

Whoops, I lied, GIMP has no support for 16-Bit. I'm looking for a free OSS solution to your issue, but kinda coming up blank! Whatever software you camera came with should be able to export a 16-bit or 48-bit (same file some programs call it different things) Tif.
