Default "stitching" software

so, I awhile back I saw an ad for an item of software from Microsoft. The article showed a jumbled mess of pictures of somewhere in venice (i think) and then it created a massive picture that took all of the pictures and superimposed them over one another to sort of stitch them together to create a bigger image... I do not know if that's actually what it is called but I think that this is a great idea... I have looked around on Microsofts website but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Any ideas as to where it might be?

Default Photosynth

I think you are thinking of photosynth
Photosynth: Your photos, automatically in 3D.

You might also like Hugin, which works in a similar way (and can automatically decide how to stitch together photos, with the proper setup).

I've been using the Hugin as of late, and it works very well and is very easy to use as well as being FREE!!!

Hugin is a great option. If youve got Photoshop CS3 or higher you can do the same using the File -> Automate -> Photomerge.
