i have a canon xs 10mp im using a 28-135 lens.
my question is what is the largest you can print a photo before you start seeing distortion?? i am in mexico and the photos i see are huge,(50x75cm or larger) but they are so big that they look like paintings because everything is so smooth. great from a distance but if you are closer than 5ft they look like they are retainning water. if that makes since. |

Assuming a print resolution of 300 DPI, your 10MP camera is capable of any print up to 111 sq inches, or 716 sq cm. at 240 DPI you would get 175 sq inches without interpolation, or 1129 sq cm.

I've done shots at 24x36 inches with my D80's 10mp. Even up close its pretty sweet. Depends on who you get to print.
50x75cm is 20x30 inches, so a bit bigger than that is do-able.
