Hey for a quick and free solution, download picasa from the google picassa site.

Picasa 3: Free download from Google

It's really not bad for a free download. I recently started shooting in RAW and discovered this little program will work with those files...

Keep working with this file format, you'll learn to love it.

The software is not reading your camera settings. This is assuming you set your camera to B&W. I don't know anything about this specific software but when you shoot in RAW format, all the information is there no matter what your camera settings were. You just have to figure out a way to set the software to read them or make the adjustments manually. PSE 7 has a newer version of Camera RAW. You can find it here & maybe it will help you with PSE 7.

many thanks for all your help i managed to get them all into picasa and saved them as jpegs. They are all in colour but i will just have to sort that with ps at least i have my piccys!!
