I would like to know hot I can get some of these astonishing blue sky photos, if someone knows, or if someone knows some tutorial on internet about this.

With HDR you can get good blue skies (from what I've tried), but most of this is editing with software. Do you have any editing software like Gimp or Photoshop?

Use a circular polarizing filter.

This probably can't be done with compact digital camera, because I don't have SLR, but I will try soon to get one.

I have both softwares: Gimp and Photoshop, but don't know which parameters should be adjusted or changed? Is there any tutorial on this?

Thanks in advance for the answer

I thought the same thing at first but notice the sun is not in the proper position for best results with a CP filter. Most of those shots are directly at the sun. Maybe a Graduated Neutral Density filter?

In Photoshop:

1. Ctrl+J
2. Mode> soft light-click “OK”
3. Press ”D”
4. Press ”G” for gradient tool - Select Black to transparent Linear gradient
5. Mouse cursor at top of image, click-hold-drag down to horizon-release
6. Click on background layer; Click, hold on b/w circle in layer palette
7. Choose selective colour Cyan/magenta 100/100 (Cyans)
Cyan/magenta 100/100 (Blues)

8.Flatten and save

Generally speaking, a circular polarizer will get skies nice and blue but, as you mentionned, the sun has to be to your immediate left or right for it to work it's best, which it isnt in these cases.

Contrary to Mr. Caleno, there's likely some other kind of photoshop trickery afoot. Using RAW development you can easily overboost and darken blues (or any shade, really) before even exporting to Photoshop or similar. Once there, too, it's possible to fiddle around with the colours.

That being said, it's also possible to get rich, deep, dark blues from skies without any trickery or filters: just aim high. The further away from the horizon you point the camera, the darker the sky. Many of these seem to be shot almost straight up.
