Default How to PP leaving part in color, rest in b&w

How do you PP a photo where one part of the photo - for example, a red scarf on a model - stays in its original color while the rest of the photo is converted to black & white or greyscale.

That is selective coloring, I only know how to do that in CS2 and CS4. Are these either of the programs you use?

Photobucket actually offers that option (for free) in their editing section. I've played around with it a bit, not quite sure how advanced you can get with it as far as diff. colors...but it was pretty easy to do (if I can figure it out LOL) and kind of fun,

- To convert to Black & White then selectively colourize

New adjustment layer> Hue/Saturation
De-saturate
F7 (or click on layer mask)
Press ”D”
Click on brush tool
Brush over parts to colourize
Flatten/Save

I do similar to Ken, however I use a Black & White layer adjustment so I have a little more control of the B&W part.
